Love the process, the strokes, the curve, and the construction; this love will never be taken away by any advances in technology. I am an artist because I cannot help but be inspired by other artists and the world around me.
Seven years and four months was the duration of which I worked as a concept artist at Obsidian. XBOX laid-off 1600 as of today and promised more to come. The industry is being gutted of incredible people.
I started working right out of school. Then, I was more concerned with cool designs than meaningful ones. I’ve learned a lot since, and will continue to learn. For I believe the future is one of contingency, which you and I are responsible for. In today’s crisis of authenticity, identity, and spirituality, I can no longer separate what I do from who I am. Not in a sense that criticism isn’t welcome or some weird attachment to my work. But precisely, because I am responsible for the work that I do and fidelity to my inspiration matters. I am a subject, beholding to meanings. I sought to be affective to and be affected by the colossus force of artists, thinkers, writers, friends, comrades, the people, the mountains, the rivers, the seas. I sought a better future for humanity.
